Dear Families and Colleagues,
I am honoured to lead Penola Catholic College, where our dedicated teachers are focused on education that promotes a sense of personal success for each student. High expectations are evident in all aspects of school life, and our students are encouraged to exceed their academic expectations and achieve their personal and career goals for a promising future.
Students at Penola embrace contemporary learning skills that ensure they are highly employable post school, and prepared for whatever future they decide upon - university study, college/TAFE study, or commencing employment.
The critical skills we focus on include:
- communication
- creative, innovative and design thinking
- teamwork and collaboration
- critical thinking
I am incredibly proud that Penola Catholic College is one of the 13 schools from around Australia to develop an integrated STEM project into our curriculum. STEM challenges and equips students with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills to solve authentic problems for the complex world around them.
Our Catholic faith is an integral part of the culture of our college and we follow in the footsteps of St Mary Mackillop as we promote the values of courage, compassion, hope and integrity in all aspects of school life.
As a community we continue to strive for excellence and consistent improvement and our excellent NAPLAN and HSC results show continual growth. In recent years many of our fine students have become teachers themselves demonstrating their genuine love of learning and commitment to changing the lives of young people
We look forward to welcoming you to our college and encourage you to take a tour where you can personally experience the great climate for learning and outstanding facilities that enable our students to thrive and succeed.
